Greetings and salutations all you beautiful souls. I know I haven't written anything in about 2-3 months, and to be honest, I haven't really read anything either, so my words might not have that extra razzle dazzle that they normally have, but truth be told, I've just been lounging around and taking life one day at a time with one foot in front of the other. During this quarantine, lock down, social isolation - or whatever you want to call it, really - period, I've taken multiple steps away from the path I was walking on, and I've taken the time identify and change some patterns of behavior, and it took about a week for me to identify all the bad habits that I have, how I can treat people better, how to treat myself better and many other things that I wanted to use this post to talk about. Starting off, I haven't been as focused on my school work as I should be, which is bad considering the grade that I'm in is one of the most important in my school car...

Hello wonderful guys and gals. This post is aimed at all ends of the social spectrum and is not in an way gender, race, religion or culture specific. Today's post is all about self-love, self-care and self-image, how I gained confidence, struggled with body image and way more. Okay, to start off, I am not a professional, and all of these ''tips and tricks'' come from a normal teenage girl... That being said, I have had my fair share of struggles confidence and body image wise. I never often thought of myself as beautiful and would often avoid topics talking about my self image and self worth. In classes like life orientation where body image, peer pressure and self-respect were topics that we had to talk about and learn about and in turn get marked on based on our answers in tests and exams, it was difficult for me to see myself fitting in and talking openly and honestly about these topics. I always felt like the odd one out, because of the type of environment I...

Hey, welcome back... So, if I expect this to be a comfortable space for everybody to share their stories and life experiences, and expect vulnerability from people, the least I can do is tell you something somewhat relatable and helpful. This post is going to be about mental health, how I have struggled in the past, how I am still struggling now, and how I could help, what you can do to help those around you, and in that, how you could help yourself. Also, I am in no way a professional, or therapist, or any of that cool stuff, although, psychology does excite and interest me, and sometimes, advice or help coming from someone close to you, or close in age feels more comfortable than going to a therapist or social worker or other. I would also like to put a trigger warning on this post, so please take necessary action, cause I luv you <3 So, I guess I'll just dive right in talking about how my story of struggling with mental health started.... Like many stories I...

For those of you whom have come from my Instagram page, I thank you firstly, for taking the time to appreciate some more of my writing. I haven't been inspired to read or write anything for the past couple of months, however, I have written small poems here and there. I promise that I won't start all my posts off with a long paragraph explaining things that I write, unless I feel like it would lead to confusion if I don't, because I'm pretty sure you care more about the writing than you do about me, the writer. Anyway, I have written small poems like this one, where I felt like I deserved more from a person than what they decided to give me. I wrote this one night because I felt like I was getting caught up in something toxic, but I left it without a title because I didn't think the person who I wrote it about deserves to have yet another poem written about them. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------...

Hey!! This is a new thing I thought I would try out to widen my methods of communication. This blog is set to be semi-old fashioned, because that's just the old soul that I am. All my life I have looked for way to show the world my passion, poetry. All forms of writing, really. If you like what you see, don't be afraid to say something about it. This blog is a safe space, and no matter what kind of emotional, physical, mental and/or environmental background you come from, Aaishah's corner is your corner to share. Mi casa es su casa. Much love, Aaishah xx
